Power Hours 09/29/2009

A Power Hour (or Half-Hour) is a time-optimization technique, in which you set an egg-timer for your optimum focus time ("OFT") and just sit down and work on your project until the timer goes off.   Seems easy enough to do by yourself, right? But half the time, I can't get myself to do it or I can distract myself anyway.   So here's the group modification that also creates accountability. I invite you to participate with me!
  1. I'll be scheduling Power Hours for myself throughout the week, and you are welcome to join me. You'll get a text message 5 mins. before the challenge begins (enough time to prepare for the hour ahead: take a pee, turn off your phone & email reminders, gather your tools, snacks and water, etc.), because you won't have time to do this once the Power Hour begins.
  2. Everyone who signed up for that Power Hour will get a text message at the start of the Power Hour! We'll all spend that time working on our projects, wherever we are.
  3. At the end of the Power Hour, we'll have an (optional & short)  teleconference call for all the Power Hour's participants to celebrate the hour spent in focus and talk what we were able to do in that time!
Join as many Power Hours and Power Half-Hours you like. They'll be scattered during the day and night throughout the week. Feel free to organize your own Power Hours! (I'd be happy to include it in the 100-Days email in the future.)

To be invited to Power Hours as they are scheduled, email SoulmateFromWithin@gmail.com. (You can also email me to suggest a time for a future Power Hour.)

Here's the schedule of upcoming Power Hours and their links.
