About Janice Plado Dalager
Today, we see a writer, lifecoach, and speaker. A woman who loves being married, being single, being creative, and being Filipina. A woman who seeks growth through change - and she gets lots of both!
But it wasn't always that way. This Filipina American grew up smart, but painfully shy, in rural Pennsylvania and finished high school in the suburbs of Phoenix, AZ. She did well in math and science, and even went on to get her bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of Arizona. Right around this time, the leadership-speaking-teaching bug bit her, and her journey has since taken her through the software and health insurance industries, as an instructor, a section manager, a project manager, and so much more. On a personal level, her quiet nature and multi-cultural background were revealed to her as her strength. It was now a matter of finding how to use it and where her gifts would serve others best.
Ultimately, she found her calling in the Transformational Life Coaching program at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, and eventually started her own practice with seminars, blogs, coaching, and group facilitation. She writes a monthly bi-culturalism column for the Filipino American Journal, and is in the process of writing a book titled Asians Don't Do Therapy. An advocate of community service, Janice has taught as a volunteer teacher of library ESL programs and continues to serve as a volunteer broadcaster for Sunsounds of Arizona, radio for the print-impaired.
